Upper Village Veterinary Hospital knows that you are busy. We have made it as easy as possible for our neighbours who are looking for a “veterinary clinic near me in East York, Ontario” to keep their pets happy and healthy. We’re happy to share some of the ways our team helps you maintain the routine wellness visits and preventive services your pet needs.

How far away are you from East York?

Our hospital is a ~7-kilometre drive from the east-central suburbs via Millwood Road and Eglinton Avenue East. You don’t have to worry about driving too far or getting stuck in significant gridlock along the way. We are situated in an area with numerous services, including ample parking and access to buses and subway services for clients not travelling by car. This accessibility is crucial, as it allows easy access to our location in Midtown Toronto.

What preventive services do you offer?

Like people, pets should be vaccinated periodically to protect against infections and preventable diseases. The frequency of this important preventive service depends on factors specific to your dog or cat and the vaccine product, including age, overall health, and risk factors. Generally, when you first get a puppy or kitten, you will need to visit our clinic more often for your pet’s shots. Why is this? We need to “train” or develop your young pet’s immune system. These initial “boosters” may need to be administered every three to four weeks. Since we are so close to the East End, you don’t have to travel far to keep these more frequent, initial, and essential appointments.

How often will my pet need a wellness exam?

You likely visit your GP once a year for annual physicals. All pets should also visit us at least once a year for nose-to-tail examinations. As your pet ages or as their health changes, more frequent exams will be recommended. Since we are in close proximity to East York and the surrounding inner suburbs, our appointments can fit well into your day-to-day routine. These appointments should be prioritised, because they are opportunities to detect problems before they cause pain and affect your pet’s health. Should there be follow-ups, or if we need you to drop off a stool sample or pick up meds, you can easily swing by our office to do so. Plus, we are located right on Eglinton Way, home to more than 200 businesses. While visiting our clinic, you can also run errands or grab a bite, and make the most of your time in our lovely and vibrant neighbourhood!

How quickly can you care for my pet?

We know that with regular exams and preventive services, many illnesses can be avoided. However, even with the best of intentions, our team understands that accidents, injuries, and sicknesses still happen. We provide expert emergency and surgical care that is close to East York. Moments matter in urgent or traumatic situations, so many of our clients in the East End appreciate the peace of mind that comes with knowing they can reach our hospital quickly. Should your pet require hospitalisation, it is easy and convenient to stop by and visit them. As your pet recovers and heals, short trips to see us for follow-ups are more comfortable for them and less stressful for you, too.
