With over two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Davidson has dedicated his career to enhancing the health and well-being of animals, earning the trust and respect of pet owners and the veterinary community.

Dr. Davidson’s journey in veterinary medicine has been both diverse and enriching. He has honed his skills in a 24-hour emergency and referral center, owned a veterinary clinic, and served as the medical director for a bustling downtown animal hospital. These varied experiences have equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of veterinary practices and the ability to handle various medical situations with expertise and compassion.

His areas of professional interest are extensive, encompassing surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, anesthesia, and pain management. Dr. Davidson is particularly passionate about collaborating with pet owners, believing that a team approach is essential to supporting the health and happiness of the entire family. He takes the time to listen, educate, and involve pet owners in decision-making, ensuring that each pet receives personalized and effective care.

The establishment of Upper Village Veterinary Hospital is a testament to Dr. Davidson’s vision of creating a veterinary practice that provides top-tier medical care and fosters the human-animal bond. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys skiing, canoeing, and neighborhood walks with his beloved Old English Sheepdogs, Tilly and Sully. These personal experiences enrich his understanding of the profound connections between pets and their families, further informing his compassionate approach to veterinary care.

Dr. Rachael

Dr. Rachael Mozes, BSc. MSc. DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Rachael Mozes was born and raised in Toronto and graduated from University College Dublin Veterinary School in Dublin, Ireland in 2017. She previously completed her Bachelor of Science (Honours) at Queen’s University in Animal Physiology and her Master of Science in Pathobiology at the Ontario Veterinary College. Her Master’s thesis focused on Shelter Medicine and her research has been published in The Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery. Her special interests include dentistry, infectious disease control and preventative healthcare.

Becoming a veterinarian has been a lifelong goal of Dr. Mozes. She spent the first few years of her career working in emergency medicine and then practiced for several years at a busy downtown animal clinic in Toronto. She is thrilled to be joining the Upper Village team and is excited to build relationships with clients and their pets!

Outside of work, Dr. Mozes loves to travel the globe, with a country count of 37 to date. She also enjoys crime thriller novels, live music, pilates, frequenting art galleries, spending time with family and friends and her Golden Doodle, Brody.

Dr. Andrea Smith, BSc, DVM, Veterinarian

Veterinarian

Andrea has been caring for pets in Toronto for over 16 years, with experience in both emergency and general practice. She served as Medical Director of a busy relationship-focused clinic in North York for more than a decade, after completing her BSc at the University of Guelph in 2004 and her DVM at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2009. Her professional interests include surgery, dentistry, rehabilitation, and geriatric medicine. She has a special fondness for senior pets (even the grumpy ones).

What Andrea loves most about veterinary medicine is caring for beloved companions while embracing the variety and problem solving each day brings. She finds it especially rewarding to build long term relationships with clients and their pets, helping them heal, stay comfortable, and enjoy a great quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, Andrea enjoys travel, pilates, golf, wine tasting as she works on her sommelier levels for fun, spending time at her cottage, exploring Toronto restaurants, and collecting vinyl records with more than 500 in her collection. Andrea is also a lifelong Sheltie enthusiast. Her family has had Shetland Sheepdogs for over four generations in Canada. She currently shares her home with Jude, a spirited six year old tri coloured Sheltie who is equal parts spunky and soft hearted.
